Market Facilitation Program Open Now through January

Sep 06, 2018

Soy growers can sign up now through Jan. 15, 2019 for the Market Facilitation Program.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) program provides payments to cotton, corn, dairy, hog, sorghum, soybean, and wheat producers who have been significantly impacted by tariffs on U.S. agricultural exports, including a 25 percent duty imposed by China on soybean imports.

According to USDA, eligible producers should apply after harvest is complete, as payments will only be issued once production is reported. For information and instructions click here.

Under the program, the initial payment rate for soybeans is $1.65 per bushel on 50 percent total production.
