Marypat Corbett recently joined the American Soybean Association (ASA) as the program specialist for the World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH). She came to WISHH after five years with the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC). where she directed the international soy food and oil marketing strategy, promoting the use of U.S. soy as a food ingredient.
Corbett’s diverse professional agricultural background also includes having been responsible for The Pillsbury Company’s U.S. on-farm sales division’s marketing plan and running a regional profit center which specialized in repurposing food and beverage industry by-products into livestock feed. She subsequently joined Kynetec/Doane Marketing Research, where she created and deployed the global marketing strategy for their agronomic market intelligence division, working with the global seed and pesticide industry, the US-EPA and multiple divisions within the USDA.
Corbett’s WISHH responsibilities include supporting several WISHH U.S. Departmetn of Agriculture (USDA)/Foreign Agricultural Services (FAS) funded Food For Progress programs in Africa and Asia, as well as coordinating WISHH’s Cochran Fellowship Program and USDA/FAS United Export Strategy 2019 submission. Originally from Chicago, Corbett launched her agricultural career with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture/animal industries and a minor in journalism from Southern Illinois University. She and her husband, Cecil, are active in several faith based initiatives in the St. Louis region and train, show and race their Irish Wolfhounds.
