Jack and Gwyn Trumbo farm in Shelby County Kentucky and have been passionate supporters of the World Soy Foundation (WSF) since its beginning.  Jack, a current WSF Board member, often shares his farm motto:

“If we don’t give it away, we can’t keep it.”  With that said, it came as no surprise and as a great honor to the WSF, that although saddened by the loss of their mother, the family used the opportunity to help others in need through the Foundation.

This past July, Elizabeth Bryant Trumbo Bond, age 96 passed away.  Reminiscing, Jack said, “Besides grandkids and gardening, my Mom was probably the oldest ‘foodie’ I know….with a high priority on seeing to it that those around her were well fed. I think in farming that’s a natural…and only fitting that we could honor her life by helping to bring nutrition to hungry kids”.

There has been $900 donated to date in memory of Elizabeth, and an anonymous donor has pledged to match up to another $550 in donations. The World Soy Foundation would like to recognize the Trumbo family for their unfailing support along with their mother, Elizabeth.  We thank the Trumbo family for their gift and extend our sympathy in their loss.
