Message from Indiana Soybean Grower Scott Fritz

Nov 21, 2013

Dear Farmers,

As your work in the fields winds down this harvest, we would like to share news of progress on the hunger front. According to the United Nations’ report released, Oct. 2, 2013, some 842 million people—roughly 1 in 8 alive today—suffered from chronic hunger in 2011-2013.

An anonymous donor has offered to match acre challenge gifts from new donors, dollar for dollar!

The vast majority, 827 million, live in developing countries. Progress is being made. The 2013 figure is down from 868 million during 2010-2012, and represents a decline of 17 percent since 1990-1992. That is still a big number and many of the people with chronic hunger are children with insufficient protein in the diet.  As we head into the holiday season and giving of thanks, please remember to include YOUR organization fighting to reduce malnutrition through the power of soy. Give to the World Soy Foundation’s Acre Challenge today.
