Josh Neiderman, regional director - Africa for ASA’s WISHH program, recently visited three African countries and numerous soy industry stakeholders to identify new trade opportunities.
In Ethiopia, Neiderman met with the Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) as well as multiple soy industry stakeholders, from both the food and feed sectors. Ethiopia is the second most populous country in Africa, and possesses the largest livestock population on the continent.

Both public and private sector partners are optimistic about the continued success of Quality Samples Program (QSP) activities through FAS, including current consignments bound for Uganda and Malawi.
Neiderman ended the trip in Uganda, where he met with supply chain partner Sesaco’s customer base in the baking industry. Research into opportunities for small scale soy dairy utilization also proved successful, and is currently in the initial stages of development.
