American Soybean Association (ASA) Director Dave Poppens, Lennox, S.D., discussed this year’s U.S. crop condition during the U.S. Soy Market Outlook Conference in Shanghai, China recently.

The U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) presented the annual conference, where hundreds of importers, traders, crushers, feed millers and animal integrators from the entire region gather. The U.S. soybean industry continues to conduct the event for China’s grower leaders in efforts to increase interaction with U.S. grow leaders and inform them of the U.S. Soy crop quality, market situation and price trend.

Participants told U.S. grower leaders and USSEC staff that the event helps build trust with U.S. soybean growers and the industry as they provide not only the latest information on U.S. soybean crops through such an event, but also objective and impartial market opinions.

Poppens also had the opportunity to review his farm operational management strategy during his presentation. United Soybean Board (USB) Director Dan Farney also gave a presentation on U.S. sustainability in soy production.

The effort of U.S. grower leaders’ participation and involvement at important events throughout China proves the continued commitment the U.S. Soy industry has in helping China achieve their goals of food security, food safety and sustainable soybean supply.
