Soy Growers Urge Representatives to Sign Onto Waterways Infrastructure Funding Letter

Apr 05, 2018

Upgrading inland waterways infrastructure is a top priority for soybean farmers, and this week the American Soybean Association (ASA) urged growers to ask their representatives to sign onto the Dear Colleague letter circulating the U.S. House of Representatives.

The letter urged support of dedicating a portion of federal revenues generated from hydropower sales to the Inland Waterways Trust Fund to accelerate completion of inland waterways infrastructure projects. The deadline for House members to sign onto the letter is extended to Tuesday, April 10.

The Dear Colleague letter is led by Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH) and Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-IL).

To sign onto the letter, House offices can contact Ryan Dilworth in Rep. Gibbs office at: Ryan.Dilworth@mail.house.gov or Jonathon Freye in Rep. Lipinski’s office at: Jonathon.Freye@mail.house.gov
