ASA staff joined staff from 19 state and regional soybean organizations, as well as the United Soybean Board, U.S. Soybean Export Council, National Biodiesel Board, Soy Transportation Coalition and Soy Aquaculture Alliance in Gettysburg, Pa., this week to discuss issues impacting the soybean industry at the state and national levels.
The event was conducted and coordinated by the Iowa Soybean Association, and in addition to meetings to discuss farmers' freedom to operate, policy and member communications, and organizational development, the group participated in the Gettysburg Leadership Experience, a program designed to look at strategic victories and defeats by military leaders during the Battle of Gettysburg and how those decisions translate to the business landscape. The state and national organizations will gather again in St. Louis in October for ASA's State and National Staff Meeting.
