While ASA is very pleased with the House’s passage of the Agricultural Act of 2014 this morning, there is little time to rest and celebrate. ASA has learned from both Chairwoman Stabenow and Ranking Member Cochran that the Senate intends to move the farm bill to the floor for a vote as quickly as possible. We have good momentum and are close to the finish line, but we aren’t there yet, and passage in the Senate is by no means a foregone conclusion.

The Senate will vote on final passage of the farm bill on Tuesday, so constant pressure on both Senate offices in your state is needed between now and then. We need farmers and industry allies to reach out to their Senate offices and tell them how much the farm bill means to soybean farmers.
ASA will keep you updated on the bill’s progress in the Senate.
