U.S. growers are expected to plant a record of 84.6 million acres of soybeans this year—a 1 percent increase from 2014.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Prospective Plantings report released on Tuesday, planted acreage intentions are up or unchanged in 21 of the 31 major soybean producing states.
USDA’s annual report provides survey-based estimates for planted acreage for the major U.S. crops.
