Jim Sutter, CEO of the U.S. Soybean Export Council, Jim Hershey, Executive Director of ASA’s WISHH program and staff from their respective organizations attended the U.S. Agricultural Export Development Council’s Fall Conference earlier this month.
This meeting convenes commodity groups (known as “cooperators”) and USDA FAS personnel to discuss exports and trade. Among the many speakers was Ted McKinney, Under Secretary of Agriculture for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs; previously Ted served as Director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. Among several takeaways from his speech were to emphasize market access, explore new markets and seek input from cooperators. Other notable events include the election of Jim Sutter to the USAEDC Board’s Executive Committee as Secretary/Treasurer. Congratulations Jim and the Soy Family!
