Through the Valent USA sponsorship of the ASA Ag Voices of the Future program, two students from the 2018 class attended the Agriculture Future of America (AFA) Leaders Conference, Nov. 1-4, 2018, in Kansas City, Mo.  Nathalie Yoder from Altha, Fla. and Caleb Swears from Carlisle, Ark., were selected from the 10 students who participated in the 2018 Ag Voices of the Future program to receive a $1,600 scholarship to apply toward their college tuition, and also a complimentary registration for participation in the AFA Leaders Conference.

The AFA Leaders Conference is a four-track program designed to offer college students four different personal and professional development opportunities matched to their year in college. The program bridges the gap between academic, leadership and work experiences while helping students understand the impact of their decisions.

Students are given the opportunity to network with peers and leaders in the agriculture industry as well as increase their excitement about the future of agriculture by creating awareness about career opportunities in food and agriculture.
