Bill Wykes first served on the WISHH Program Committee from 2006-12 when the Illinois Soybean Association appointed him as one of their representatives. He was appointed by past ASA President Wade Cowan once again in 2015.
The American Soybean Association World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (ASA/WISHH) Committee Member Bill Wykes says the program is making strides in moving U.S. soy. The Yorkville, Ill. soybean farmer has an up-close view of WISHH’s results through his participation in WISHH trade teams to developing countries, as well as eight years in the WISHH leadership ranks.
Wykes first served on the WISHH Program Committee from 2006-12 when the Illinois Soybean Association appointed him as one of their representatives. He returned to WISHH leadership in 2015 when then ASA President Wade Cowan appointed him as one of two ASA representatives, a post he continues to hold.
“WISHH is a great marketing program for the American soybean farmer,” said Wykes in this video. He shared how WISHH’s work has built U.S. soybean demand through projects such as FEEDing Pakistan, which introduced soy-based floating fish feeds in the sixth most populous country in the world.
“WISHH is a trailblazer for trade. As countries and their economies improve, people require and want more protein in their diet,” he said.
