The American Soybean Associations World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (ASA/WISHH) Executive Director Jim Hershey and Regional Director-Africa Josh Neiderman visited Abidjan, Ivory Coast last week to meet with importers and consumers of U.S. soy proteins.

The government of the Ivory Coast school nutrition program recently ordered 165 metric tons of textured soy flour and ADM/Decatur will begin shipments immediately.

This sale is a result of original product trials 10 years ago, and renewed with a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) funded Quality Samples Program earlier this year. The importer also plans to launch retail market sales to the public.
