ASA’s WISHH Program Monitoring and Evaluation Director James Bernhardt visits a wet market in downtown Phnom Penh Cambodia. This fish seller markets a combination of aquaculture raised and wild-caught fresh and salt water fish, and represents the end of the value chain that the CAST Project aims to strengthen with soy fed, Cambodian raised fish.
ASA’s WISHH program sent Monitoring and Evaluation Director James Bernhardt to Cambodia this week to work on the USDA Food for Progress funded CAST Project. During Bernhardt’s visit, ASA/WISHH will award the contract for completion of a baseline study to define the CAST key indicator starting points. This baseline setting study will involve more than 50 key informant interviews and in person survey work with over 1,000 fish farmers in nine provinces in Cambodia. While in Cambodia, Bernhardt and CAST Chief of Party Jim Hershey will also meet with CAST subcontractors to develop monitoring and evaluation systems for this five-year project.
