World Soy Foundation Donates 380,000 Meals to Children in Nicaragua

Aug 01, 2013

The World Soy Foundation (WSF) recently received reports from Nicaragua that last year’s donation of Textured Soy Protein (TSP) has provided over 380,000 meals to children throughout the country this year. Cargill donated the TSP to WSF as part of a three-year Central America Nutrition program covering Guatemala, Nicaragua and Honduras. TSP and Nicaraguan grown rice were packed together in the first event of its kind as part of a joint effort between WSF, Tip Top (Cargill Nicaragua) employees, the Fabretto Children’s Foundation and Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). The meals are distributed throughout schools in Nicaragua and provide children the protein they need in order to learn and grow.
