World Soy Foundation Partner Futuro Vivo in Guatemala Gets Visit from Queen Sofía of Spain

Mar 27, 2014

This week, Queen Sofía of Spain saw first-hand the power of soy fighting malnutrition in Guatemala when she visited World Soy Foundation (WSF) partner Futuro Vivo. As part of their nutrition program, Futuro Vivo produces soy milk, soy cereal and other soy products that the organization provides to the over 250 children it serves. The World Soy Foundation has donated soybeans to Futuro Vivo and continues to support them in their efforts to reduce malnutrition. According to the World Food Programme, Guatemala has the fourth highest rate of chronic malnutrition in the world and the highest in Latin America; 49.8% of children under five suffer from chronic undernutrition. In partnership with Rotary clubs in Guatemala, WSF is proud to support Futuro Vivo’s efforts to use soy to reduce malnutrition in the country.
