We would like to introduce you to Leonard Stoll, a farmer from Missouri who raises corn, soybeans and cattle about 60 miles east of Kansas City in a town called Higginsville. Leonard farmed his land for most of his life and passed his knowledge and passion down to his son who now manages the operation.

Leonard and his wife Kathy, their daughter, son and his wife along with their four children, also live on the farm—making their home in Higginsville a lively place! Leonard remembers reading about the World Soy Foundation (WSF) about five years ago and thinking the WSF was doing good work that merited support. His son and daughter-in-law go on mission trips with their church, specifically to Uganda, and told Leonard stories about the children in need they encounter on those trips

“Soy is a good way to feed starving kids over in third world countries, and it’s good to support an organization that does that,” Leonard said. “That’s why I got involved; to alleviate the kids who are starving to death.”

Leonard explains that we cannot get wrapped up in the luxuries we are so accustomed to when there are thousands of kids dying every day around the world that have significantly less than even the poorest in America.

“The Bible tells us to take care of the poor. While the WSF’s work does benefit soy farmers, too, we also need to get involved to help starving kids,” he said.

The WSF commends Leonard for his passion and dedication to helping reduce malnutrition through the power of soy. Leonard is a committed supporter of the WSF and we want to especially recognize him and his family for joining with us to further our mission! Without the generosity of people like the Stoll’s, WSF would not be able to continue helping hungry kids around the world.

To join Leonard and hundreds of other farmers in reducing malnutrition through the power of soy, simply calculate the value of an acre of soybeans in your operation (yield multiplied by price) and give the gift of protein today!
