The World Soy Foundation’s (WSF) final spotlight for the month is an organization called Sagrada Familia Center, located in Antigua, Guatemala.

Each week, the center serves more than 250 children and adults who live in extreme poverty. The dining room there provides lunches that include a complete nutritious meal using a variety of soy recipes. As needed and when they are able, they also provide clothes, shoes, basic medical aid and showers to their beneficiaries.

The Sagrada Familia Center receives the soy, equipment and training through a WSF-supported organization called Caritas Arquidiocesana. Caritas Arquidiocesana receives WSF support in order to provide better nutritional options to many smaller organizations around their community, which includes the Sagrada Familia Center.

The Sisters working at the center expressed their gratitude to both the WSF and Caritas Arquidiocesana for the support.

“We pray every day for this help to continue for a very long time and to bless the donors who have a big heart sending high quality food to the people who can’t afford it. Thank you very much,” they told the WSF.

Sister Maria del Socorro Pinto is from El Salvador and has a mission to serve people at the center. She’s thankful she’s able to help provide assistance to those in need that come to them for help. The support provided to the center helps Sister Maria in her mission of helping others, and it is because of the generosity of people like you that this is made possible!
