In a 59-40 vote this afternoon, the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Gina McCarthy as the next Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, ending the longest confirmation process for an administrator in the agency’s history. During her April confirmation hearing before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, McCarthy committed to building a better relationship between the EPA and the agriculture community.
