A Thanksgiving Message from ASA President John Heisdorffer

Nov 21, 2018

Hello Soy Family,

Thanksgiving at our house is a time for great food, reflection and, of course, gratitude.

While this year has provided many challenges for soy growers and rural America, I am still grateful to farm each and every day and I’m especially grateful for the tireless work from the soy industry and farmers across the country.

I know harvest season has a lot of farmers wondering where their beans are going to go, and at what price. The entire soy family, from ASA to USB to USSEC, has been thinking about that too. Trade concerns remain top of mind, but we’re also working to update transportation and infrastructure, pass a farm bill to bring more certainty to growers and promote regulations that help growers farm.

Farming is a tough job, there’s no doubt about it, but it’s a rewarding job and one that I’m proud and grateful to do.

As you enjoy Thanksgiving with friends and family this year I hope you’ll make time to think about what you’re grateful for, and know that my family is thankful for you and this industry.

Happy Thanksgiving,
The Heisdorffer Family
