WISHH Discusses Strategic Plan in Washington

Mar 26, 2015

ASA’s WISHH program had a productive week in Washington D.C., where they discussed current programs, present and future budgets and the new WISHH strategic plan in mid-March.

The WISHH Committee, chaired by Andy Welden (MI), is made up of 14 grower leaders from QSSBs that fund WISHH and two ASA Board members.

Karen Edwards of KCE Public Affairs and Hanna Abou-El-Seoud, the latter under WISHH contract with AgSource at the Gordley Associates office, took part in the meetings and accompanied WISHH Executive Director Jim Hershey to an introductory meeting with the recently appointed head of the USDA/FAS Office of Capacity Building and Development (OCBD). Deputy Administrator Jocelyn Brown leads this FAS division that includes Food for Progress, McGovern-Dole International School Nutrition and the Cochran Programs, to name a few.
