Planning for your farm’s future can be confusing—but you aren’t the only one who has questions and you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
Meet with growers in similar situations and learn more about how to successfully transition your farm and protect your legacy at the ASA Succession Planning Workshops this winter in Moline, Ill.or Columbus, Ohio. The American Soybean Association (ASA), in partnership with eLegacyConnect, is hosting the workshops to help farmers with the succession process through the “The Five Keys of Success” presented by eLegacyConnect’s Kevin Spafford.
Davie Stephens attended the ASA Succession Workshop in Paducka, Ky. this past summer and he recommends the sessions to anyone who is thinking about the future of their operation.
Stephens said the number one lesson he took away is to get the conversation started, because it’s easy to put on the back burner. He also said the workshop allowed him to hear others’ concerns similar to his and share ideas.
“So this is really opening the door to a lot of different ideas that come from people in your area and hearing what they’re going through, how it relates to what I’m going through and we just share ideas and plan for the future succession.”
