Every farmer wants increased revenue and specialty soybeans are providing just that for growers across the country. From non-GMO food grade to Roundup Ready®, organic or even high oleic, specialty soybeans are providing monetary premiums. The diversification between varieties puts extra change in the pockets of growers by providing additional markets for their crop, without having to add acres to their farm. Although specialty soybeans often require a change in how growers operate their farm, domestic and international demand for these soybeans continues to rise and our farmers have an opportunity to capitalize on that demand. Trade facilitator for the Illinois Soybean Association, Eric Woodie talks about the tools available for farmers to learn more about soybean premiums.
